I have finally finished my never-ending university course, and will be graduating with a Master's Degree next month!
An original painting of one of my favourite music personalities that I have been working on (very intermittently) will be online to purchase soon, hopefully followed by more original works and limited edition prints.
In the mean time, have a look at the Ike Inc Instagram page. I made it half way through Iketober (Inktober as it's known to most) with a scribble each day, before a holiday interfered.
I've been using Pinterest and Tumblr a lot more recently. There's plenty of creative interest to be found on both and I've updated my pages on each. They can now be accessed directly from the Ike Inc site by clicking the links at the bottom of each page, in addition to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
I recently finished my first attempt at a proper painting, and a first portrait for me. I painted Christoph Waltz in acrylic, on board. I really enjoyed it and found painting to come much more naturally than originally anticipated. I Feel like this could be the start of something. Hope you like it.
I made a short video showing the painting's progress throughout. Have a look, if you please.
I've put together a short series of designs based on some of photographer Ray Smith's (my Dad's) old reportage images from the 80s. Just a bit of fun on low resolution images, but it's good to get the ball rolling again.
Ike Inc has now entered its second calendar year and I'm delighted to be releasing the first t-shirt of 2015 - Legends Take Chances - now available on the site.
I've spent a lot of time sourcing the best possible materials, and the result is our best quality t-shirt to date. At 175 gsm, the cotton has a more luxurious feel, and retains its shape, wash after wash. Still only £20, Ike Inc labelling now replaces the inner neck print, as on previous releases, and they've now got custom care labels too.
When I'm working away in the studio, I always find that my designs have a got a bit more punch to them when I've got some musical melodies playing in the background.
Here's a short playlist of 10 (slightly random) tunes that keep my creative juices flowing when I'm in the zone.
1. Isley Brothers - Prize Possession (Follow Me Remix)
2. Wankelmut - My Head Is A Jungle (Feat. Emma Louise)
3. Arctic Monkeys - Fireside
4. Mr. Scruff - Be The Music
5. Breach - Everything You Never Had (We Had It All) [Feat. Andreya Triana]
Here at Ike Inc, we are very serious about fashion. So I thought I'd create a short guide on how to best exhibit your brand new Ike Inc t-shirt:
Buy an Ike Inc t-shirt (Real Genuine Fake pictured).
Pair with sports shorts, tucked in and pulled up high.
Pull on your Dunlop wellington boots (oversized).
Accessorise with a sweater tied round the neck.
Slice palm of hand open carving a duck out of wood, with inappropriate tools. Bandage up.
Top the look off with an Australian cork hat.
Hike up to the top of a Deeside hill in adverse weather conditions (optional).
(Please note: This guide was created for amusement purposes only. Ike Inc in no way encourages self harm of any form, regardless of wood carving ability.)
